Monkey Mia

We spent 3 nights at Monkey Mia (Shark Bay) The weather was fantastic! On Thursday morning we went to watch the dolphin feeding then we went hired two double kayaks and one single and went for a paddle for about an hour. Then we went on a cruise, Aristocat 2!

Blue Lagoon Pearls, we stopped here and saw how black pearls are made,
They gave us a taste of some raw pearl meat worth $600 a kilo!

We had a go at boom netting where you sit in a net at the back of the boat and get pulled along, this was great fun but very cold...

Mum and Dad kayaking at sunset

On Friday we set off at around eight in the morning and kayaked until about two. We packed lunch and paddled past big sea eagles, cliff faces and stopped at our own private beach. On the sand we followed tracks of echidnas, kangaroos and hermit crabs. By the end our arms told us it was a lot further home than what we thought.

This morning we went to the dolphin feeding again. Thomas was lucky enough to get to feed a dolphin...
